where does my data go?
your archive is stored in a folder you choose. local models answer on your mac. if you connect another model, your question and the context it uses go to that provider. privacy details.
is my mac good enough?
a mac with 8 gb of memory can search and ask. more memory runs a larger model with better answers. setup checks your machine and picks a size that fits.
what is full disk access?
the macos permission that lets an app read the files where your messages and photos live. samskara uses it to build your archive on your mac. you can allow or remove access in system settings.
is the app signed?
the download is signed and notarized by apple. open the disk image, then drag samskara to applications.
what model writes the answers?
qwen or llama can run on your mac. setup picks a size that fits. you can also add your own key for a cloud model.
do i need internet?
download the app and local model first. then you can ask and browse offline. cloud models need internet when you use them.
how do i uninstall?
drag the app to the trash, then delete the .samskara folder in your home directory.
